DEFINITION:
the act of determining content of subject and evaluating~
“Whereas the United States now tests every child every year on tests that rely primarily on multiple-choice items that evaluate recall and recognition, most high-achieving countries use external assessments sparingly… and these rely largely on open-ended tasks that require students to analyze and apply knowledge.”

CONNECTION: Assessment is an important part of my classroom, but I need to create lessons that are able to expand my students knowledge base so that they can do more than just answer a multiple choice question on a test.

CONNECTION: Using the web, allowing my students to be exposed to various types of literature not only broadens my students literary base but assist with students who may need extra help with reading, challenge students who are above grade level in their reading or assist me in reaching other students when I am working with a separate group.
